Information for authors
The journal considers original work across medical science. Manuscripts must be submitted exclusively to OMJ as one complete Microsoft Word document. OMJ follows double-blind peer review: author and reviewer identities are concealed from each other throughout the review process.
Register and submit onlineUpload the entire manuscript as one .docx file. PDF, RTF, and separate title-page files are not accepted as the primary manuscript.
The manuscript may include author names, affiliations, and correspondence details. The editorial office prepares an anonymized reviewer copy before external peer review.
Include the title page, abstract, main text, references, tables, figures, and figure legends in the same .docx manuscript.
Upload any number of optional supporting files, such as datasets, appendices, reporting checklists, media, or permissions, separately.
Editorial process
Editors assess scope, originality, scientific quality, ethical completeness, and significance.
The editorial office removes author-identifying information from the reviewer copy. Suitable manuscripts are then sent to two or more experts through a double-blind process, with author and reviewer identities concealed from each other.
The editorial decision and reviewer comments appear in the author dashboard. Upload the revised manuscript and a point-by-point response against the same submission record.
Accepted articles proceed through copyediting, proofing, and publication. Authors can follow progress and access the published record from their dashboard.
